1. Information We Collect

1.1 Accounts, Including Guests

You can play as a guest or create an account with Apple, Google or email.

Guest play is not anonymous to us. Playing as a guest creates an account with a persistent account identifier, which we use to sign you in, reconnect you to games, prevent abuse, and link your scores and any purchases to you.

The App also creates a random identifier that is stored on your device and linked to your account. We use it to reconnect you to your sessions and games. It is not your device's hardware identifier or an advertising identifier, and we don't use it to track you across other apps or websites.

A registered account may also contain:

We never receive your Apple or Google password. If you sign up with email, your password is stored in encrypted (hashed) form and is never visible to us or anyone else in plain text.

1.2 Gameplay Data

1.3 Purchase Information

If you subscribe to Song Busters Pro, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store), and your subscription access is managed through our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We process purchase identifiers, subscription status and expiry dates so we can give you the access you paid for. We never receive or store your payment card details.

1.4 Device, Session and Country Information

To run the service, manage your sessions and keep the App secure, we process:

We only work out your country, from your network connection. We store it with your account and use it for session management and security, and, combined across all players, for usage statistics such as how many players we have in each country. Song Busters never asks for access to your device's location (GPS).

1.5 Error Reports

We use a third-party error-monitoring service (Sentry) to find and fix problems in the App. An error report can include details of the error, recent technical events leading up to it, device and operating system information, the App version, and an internal account identifier.

We filter error reports to leave out passwords and other credentials, sign-in tokens, email addresses, player names, your answers, and the text of any reports you submit. We don't use performance tracing, profiling, or recordings of your sessions, and we never use error reports for advertising.

1.6 Reports and Blocking

If you report a player or block someone, we store the information described in Section 4.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information above to:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

No advertising. Song Busters doesn't show ads on any tier, and we don't use your information for advertising or ad tracking.

3. Third-Party Services

We rely on the following service providers to operate Song Busters. Each processes only the information it needs for its service, under its own privacy policy:

ServicePurpose
Sign in with AppleAccount authentication
Google Sign-InAccount authentication
RevenueCatSubscription and purchase management
RenderBackend application hosting
Neon (PostgreSQL)Database hosting
SentryError monitoring
ResendSending account emails

4. Community Safety

Player names and game names are visible to other players, so we filter them, and other text you submit, for objectionable language.

You can report a player's name or game content, and you can block other players. When you do, we store the report, any details you choose to add, a snapshot of the reported content, the account identifiers of the person reporting and the person reported, your blocking preferences, and the moderation decision.

Our authorized administrators review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts. We review reports daily and aim to respond within 24 hours. For any community safety concern, contact info@songbustersgame.com.

5. Deleting Your Account

Anyone can delete their account from inside the App under Settings → Delete Account, including guests and accounts without an email address. Giving a reason is optional. If you can't access the App, see songbustersgame.com/delete-account to request deletion by email. If your account is linked to Apple, we may ask you to sign in with Apple once more so we can revoke the App's access to your Apple account.

5.1 What gets deleted

5.2 What stays, without your identity

Multiplayer games are shared with other players, so their results don't disappear when you leave. We remove your name and any free-text answers from those games and detach them from your account. Other players keep their scores and the song details, and your place is shown under a replacement player label.

In moderation records, we remove your account and any report text you wrote. If you reported another account that is still active, we keep that report and its evidence so our team can finish reviewing it. If your account was the one reported, we remove your account and identifying details from the report.

5.3 If a provider is temporarily unavailable

If Apple or our subscription provider can't be reached at the time you delete, we keep only the minimum information needed to retry that step, and remove it as soon as the step succeeds.

5.4 Subscriptions are cancelled separately

Deleting your Song Busters account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Please cancel it in your store's subscription settings:

6. Data Retention

We keep account and session information for as long as it's needed to operate and secure your account.

When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active systems as soon as deletion completes. Clean-up with an outside provider can take longer if that provider is temporarily unavailable. Shared game history with your identity removed may remain for the other players (see Section 5.2).

Backups and technical logs are kept for a limited time and then expire under our retention schedule. If we ever need to restore a backup, we re-apply account deletions before using the restored data.

Information we're legally required to keep, for example for tax, fraud prevention or handling disputes, is kept only for that purpose and only for as long as required.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the right to:

EU/EEA and UK users: these rights are provided under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Swiss users: these rights are provided under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@songbustersgame.com.

8. Children's Privacy

Song Busters is not directed at children under the age of 16 (EU/UK) or 13 (US), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

As we operate from Switzerland and use service providers that may process data outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA (including in the United States), your information may be transferred internationally. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data in these transfers.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the App or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
